As a Southern Baptist Church, we adhere to the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000 Edition, from which we draw our fundamental doctrines. You can read the complete BF&M at www.sbc.net. In essence, our church believes that …
GOD created the world for us to enjoy and care for. He created you and me in His image to know Him and have fellowship with Him. Our purpose in life is to bring Him glory.
JESUS CHRIST is God’s Son. When on earth Jesus was both human and divine. Born of a virgin, Jesus lived a sinless life and took our sins upon Himself on the cross where He died. He was then buried in a borrowed tomb and was resurrected three days later. He ascended to the right hand of the Father and has promised to come again to collect His followers.
The HOLY SPIRIT, along with God the Father, and Jesus the Son, make up the third part of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit empowers the believer in Christ to live obediently and grow in Christ’s likeness.
OUR CONDITION is that we are all sinners. Because of that, we are separated from God’s love. Jesus provides a bridge into the presence of God through His sacrificial death on the cross. We experience SALVATION when we agree with God about our sin, believe Jesus died for our sins and accept His FREE GIFT by asking Him to be both Lord and Savior of our lives.
The BIBLE is God’s special Word to us. He reveals Himself to us through His Word. All of life’s questions can be answered by His inspired and perfect Word.
The CHURCH is the gathering of Jesus’ followers. It is where:
We WORSHIP God. Jesus said, “Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only” (Matt. 4:10). We worship in a blended format on Sunday mornings enjoying both contemporary songs and traditional hymns, accompanied by inspirational, biblical preaching.
We TESTIFY that Jesus is the way to eternal life with God. Jesus said, “Go, and make disciples of all nations.” (Matt. 28:19) Also, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except by me.” (John 14:6) With love and compassion we share the Good News of Christ’s saving power.
We MINISTER to those in need. The Apostle Paul said, “Equip the saints for the work of ministry.” (Ephesians 4:12) We support missions and missionaries both in America and around the world by giving, going and praying.
We FELLOWSHIP together as brothers and sisters in Christ. “... Spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Do not give up meeting together ... encourage one another.” (Heb 10:24-25).
We DISCIPLE followers of Christ. Jesus said, “Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matt. 28:20) Through the ministries of teaching and preaching, we regularly examine and apply the life-changing truths of the Bible.
